Elayyan, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, has been a bright spot in an otherwise inconsistent season for the Eagles, who lost their first 11 games before splitting their last four.
What do you do better than anybody?
Use my intelligence to help me succeed on the court.
State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most like to beat for the championship? Why?
Simeon. It would be fun to dethrone the (three-time defending) state champions.
What’s in your iPod?
Some Drake and Kanye West.
Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?
Michael Jordan. He’s the greatest.
You’re stranded on a deserted island. You could have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?
Pizza. Any kind as long as it’s just cheese.
If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
What’s your go-to move in a game of H-O-R-S-E?
Anywhere beyond the three-point line.
If you could play 1-on-1 against any prep player, who would it be?
Jabari Parker. He’s the best player in the state.
What’s the most important value your parents instilled in you?
Hard work. I see my dad work hard every day and I try to apply that to my life.
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Todd Allen, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?
That he’s a competitor. I’ve never seen someone who wants to win as much as him.
