A former Orland Park community service officer has been charged with drunken driving after allegedly crashing his car into a house early Easter morning in the 8600 block of Grace Road, Orland Park, police said.
Family members were home at the time of the crash at 3:04 a.m., but no one was seriously injured, Sgt. Scott Malmborg said.
Shane Okon, 24, 15284 Coventry Court, also was charged with driving too fast for conditions, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, not having a driver’s license with him, and no insurance, according to police.
Okon’s black Ford Mustang was completely inside the house, after he allegedly drove through the rear wall and came to rest in the basement of the split-level home, Malmborg said.
The building department ruled the home uninhabitable due to major structural damage.
Okon, who resigned as a community service officer in November, posted bond and has a May 1 court date in Bridgeview.
