HOMER GLEN

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Two men tried to distract an elderly couple Sept. 10 in the 13000 block of Dublin Drive and burglarize their home, but left the residence without taking anything, police said. They said the men tried to get the husband and wife out of the house by telling them that a neighbor was having a flooding problem from a faulty ejector pump.

THEFT: A marine battery was stolen Sept. 10 from a boat in the 16000 block of Parker Road.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: A wallet was stolen Sept. 11 from an unlocked vehicle in the 13000 block of Cherokee Trail.

NO LICENSE: Angel Villanueva-Rangel, 37, 2003 Market St., Blue Island, was charged with driving without a valid license and speeding after a stop Sept. 11 at 143rd Street and Bell Road, police said.

BURGLARY: Two chainsaws and two snowblowers were stolen Sept. 12 from a storage building in the 16000 block of Parker Road.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Randon Skonie, 19, 13905 Arapaho Trail, Homer Glen, was charged with driving on a suspended license after being stopped Sept. 13 at Bell Road and Martingale Lane, police said.

DUI ARREST: Cody Harvey, 21, 2308 W. Taylor St., Chicago, was charged with drunken driving, driving too fast for conditions and having an expired license after a Sept. 14 stop in the 12000 block of Hadley Road, police said.

EMPLOYEE THEFT: Roberto Rivera, 20, 15709 Terrace Drive, Oak Forest, was charged with retail theft Sept. 12 after stealing 200 pairs of Nikes valued at $1,000 over several months while employed at Finish Line at Orland Square Mall, police said. They said Rivera sold the shoes back to customers at a discounted price.

RETAIL THEFT: Christopher Scott, 32, 15821 Centennial Drive, Orland Park, was charged with retail theft after stealing $945 worth of liquor Sept. 12 from CVS Pharmacy, 11201 W. 143rd St., police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Mark McMahon, 52, 13705 82nd Ave., Orland Park, was charged with disorderly conduct after his underage son was seen drinking beer from a pitcher with his family Sept. 13 at Outback Steakhouse, 15608 Harlem Ave., police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Carl Pritchett, 61, 4506 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, was charged with retail theft after stealing $250 worth of merchandise Sept. 16 from Macy’s at Orland Square Mall, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Michelle Bolden, 40, 2115 W. 63rd St., Chicago, was charged with retail theft after stealing $220 worth of goods Sept. 16 from Express at Orland Square Mall, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Ashley Doyal, 25, 7550 S. Hermitage, Chicago, was charged with retail theft and unlawful possession of a theft detection device after stealing items Sept. 16 from Express at Orland Square Mall, police said.

POT POSSESSION: Matthew Kentner, 23, 9232 Fairway Drive, Orland Park, was charged with possession of marijuana after a Sept. 18 stop on 143rd Street, police said.

DRUG ARREST: Michael Jagodzinski, 27, 16148 Pin Oak Court, Homer Glen, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and not wearing a seat belt after being stopped Sept. 18 in the 15000 block of LaGrange Road, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Mariana Arellano, 36, 4701 Newberry Ave., Oak Forest, was charged with retail theft after stealing $290 worth of merchandise Sept. 18 from Sears at Orland Square Mall, police said.

DUI ARREST: Annette Kim, 50, 17231 Brookgate Drive, Orland Park, was charged with drunken driving, driving the wrong way on a highway and improper lane use after police saw her Sept. 18 driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Will-Cook Road, police said.

DRUG ARREST: Michael Otto, 30, of Portage, Ind., was charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs, driving on a suspended license, failure to wear a seat belt and no insurance after a stop Sept. 19 in the 9100 block of 159th Street, police said.

DUI CHARGE: Renauld Smith, 50, of Palos Verdes, Calif., was charged with drunken driving after he was stopped Sept. 20 in the 18000 block of Wolf Road, police said.
