Durbins of Evergreen Park raised $4,600 for the Orland Park-based Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation at a recent Durbins Cares fundraiser.
The event included free food, drink specials, entertainment by Martin and Tony Acoustics, split-the-pot and raffle baskets.
Established in 1987 by the McAuliffe family, Durbins is a family-run restaurant and bar, with several locations in the Southland.
Durbins manager Nancy Meyer said, “We love hosting this fundraiser and our customers just love being involved with an organization like the Treasure Chest Foundation that helps kids with cancer.”
Jane Perchez, administrative assistant for the Treasure Chest Foundation and Durbins Cares committee chairperson, said, “I am honored and privileged to be a part of the Treasure Chest Foundation, whose goal is to put smiles on the faces of children going through cancer treatments. It warms my heart to have the generous support of everyone involved with the Durbins Cares fundraiser.”
The Treasure Chest Foundation is a nonprofit that provides comfort and distraction from painful procedures to children and teens diagnosed with cancer by providing a toy, gift or gift card to kids at 45 hospitals in 16 states, according to the organization.
