The Orland Park Recreation Department’s Annual Indoor Duathlon for athletes of all skill levels will be held March 1.
The competition is to begin at 7:15 a.m. at the village Sportsplex, 11351 W. 159th St.
The 13-mile duathlon includes a 1.5-mile run, a 10-mile stationary bike ride and a second 1.5-mile run.
Medals will be awarded to the first- and second-place finishers for both men and women in each age category. Each participant will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt.
“The village’s indoor duathlon is a great way to stay competitive and fit during the winter months,” Sportsplex fitness manager Deborah Geghen said in a press release. “You don’t have to lose that competitive spirit just because it’s single digits outside.”
Advance registration is required. The cost is $20 for Sportsplex members, $25 for Orland Park residents who are nonmembers, and $31 for nonresidents.
Registration is open until Feb. 24 or until all spots are filled.
To register, visit the recreation administration office, 14600 Ravinia Ave., or the Sportsplex.
