Author dinner and more at Lockport’s Gaylord Building

The Gaylord Building, 200 W. Eighth St., Lockport, will host a series of cultural events in February.
The February Discovery Dinner with author Jay Pridemore will be held Feb. 13. Pridemore, author of “Building Ideas: An Architectural Guide to the University of Chicago,” will discuss architecture of Chicago.
The event begins at 5:45 p.m. with a cash bar reception. A full-service dinner prepared by the Public Landing Restaurant begins at 6:15 p.m. and will be followed by Pridemore’s lecture. The dinner will conclude with a book signing.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation and the White Oak Library District will present “Good Humor: A Festival of One Acts” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. March 1 at The Gaylord Building.
The performance of one-act comedies includes “Many Happy Returns” by Willie Reale, and three by playwright David Ives: “Arabian Nights,” “Words, Words, Words” and “The Philadelphia.”

The Gaylord Building also is seeking quality artists and crafters to participate in the 42nd annual Old Canal Days Festival’s Arts & Crafts Show. The juried show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 14 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 15 in Lockport’s National Register Historic District.
Standard booth fees are $80, and corner booths an additional $20, until May 5.
