The Village of Orland Park recently announced the winners of its third annual Christmas House Decorating Contest.
The contest was open to all residents of single-family homes in the categories of nostalgic, Clark Griswold or best entryway.
The winners are nostalgic — Jim and Donna Maday, 11708 Burnley Drive, Long Run Creek subdivision; Clark Griswold — Glen Pattin, 8711 W. 163rd St., Fernway subdivision and best entryway — Mary and Al McDonald, 16710 Muirfield Drive, Muirfield subdivison.
Trustee Kathy Fenton said, “With so many houses in the village decorated during the holidays, we thought it would be fun to have people enter the contest and be recognized for their efforts.” She said, “All of the houses entered are worth driving to see and I hope it encourages more people to enter the contest next year.”
For those who would like to see all of the houses entered in the contest, the addresses and subdivisions are: 17107 Ashwood Drive, Brook Hills; 17127 Hill Creek Court, Brook Hills; 10523 Owen Drive, Eagle Ridge Estates 1; 14601 Poplar Court; 14350 Maycliff Drive, Maycliff Estates; 10261 Hawthorne Drive; and 15708 Shire Drive, Equestrian Place.
“We’re very grateful to Bright Ideas for co-sponsoring this contest,” Fenton said. “Bright Ideas donated a 4-foot pre-lit Christmas wreath and two 7-foot pre-lit trees for the winners to choose from,” she said.
The winners will be recognized at the Feb. 7 village board meeting.
