Ultimate Volleyball Club strikes gold

The Ultimate Volleyball Club 16-and-under Gold boys team won the title of the Palos Points Series, which includes teams from Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri, for the fourth time in five years.

Matt Walsh, Chicago, was chosen as the league’s Most Valuable Player, Austin Royer, Frankfort, best setter and Nathan Van Dellen, Frankfort, best server.

The 18-and-under Gold boys team also captured the title of the Palos Points Series, led by best setter award-winner Scott Fifer, Orland Park. Other team leaders included attackers Bobby Walsh, Chicago; Marty Ross, Frankfort; and Nate Royer, Frankfort. The team also captured the championship at the Great Lakes Center Invite in Aurora on Nov. 19.
