Zack Swanson, a senior with Mount Carmel hockey, honed his goalie skills as a member of the St. Jude Knights youth organization. The Tinley Park resident will try to help the Caravan upend favored St. Viator in the quarterfinals of the Kennedy Cup playoffs.

What team would you most want to beat in the Kennedy Cup finals?

St. Rita. They got us twice during the season, but I think if we played them again, we’d give them a good fight.

You’re on a deserted island. You can have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?

My dad’s steak on the grill.

Why did you decide to be a goalie?

No one else wanted to.

What’s the best and worst part about being a goalie?

The best is when after a win, you’re the team hero. The worst is after a loss when you’re the goat.

If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?

Selena Gomez.

What’s it mean to you to wear the Mount Carmel jersey?

It’s awesome. There’s a sense of pride for the past 100-odd years. It’s character building and I’m glad to be a part of it.

Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?

Patrick Roy. He’s the best goaltender ever, in my opinion. It would be a great experience and hopefully, I’d learn a few things.

What’s your dream car?

A Dodge Viper.

As told to Pat Disabato
