A man from Chicago’s West Side was arrested Tuesday for allegedly cashing forged checks in several suburbs.
Frankfort Police Cmdr. Kevin Keegan said the manager of MB Financial Bank, 20825 LaGrange Road, contacted police Jan. 30 after Gentle Taylor, 54, tried to cash two checks.
“He’d already cashed a check on Dec. 23 for $938.45, but these checks were denied,” Keegan said. “The manager found out he had also cashed checks in Tinley Park, Crete and Dyer, Ind.”
All of the checks appeared to have been issued by Providence Life Services, which had no records of issuing checks to Taylor.
Taylor was booked into the county jail on three counts of forgery.
