Nicole Botich, 18, of Tinley Park, has completed her second full season on the Thunderbolts varsity for Andrew basketball.

Who was the first influence in you becoming a basketball player?

My middle school coach came up to me on a tryout day and said, “You’re tall. I want you to play.” It was kind of out of the blue.

What’s the best part about playing basketball?

The rush I get when I get a rebound or make a layup.

What opponent gets you the most cranked up to play?

This year it was Stagg, because they beat us last year.

Which non-Andrew player would you just love to have as a teammate?

Revi McMahon (Stagg), because she sees the floor really well and she gives great passes to her teammates.

Do you have a bad habit you wish you could break?

I tend to bite my nails. My mom always yells at me to stop.

What totally annoys you?

When people talk during a movie.

What would you never post on Facebook?

Anything mean. Facebook is just fun to get to know people and talk to people, not for anything mean.

What hidden talent do you have?

I can juggle.

Why is girls basketball better than boys basketball? Or is it?

Girls are more team-oriented than boys. We have more chemistry. But both are equally hard.

Pick a dream celebrity prom date.

Ryan Gosling from “The Notebook.”

What is your earliest childhood memory?

At 4 or 5 going to the hospital to see my baby sister being born.

When you look in the mirror, what kind of person do you see?

Someone who is hard working, and very loving and caring.

As told to Tony Baranek
