Readers who posted concerns on a blog at SouthtownStar.com about whether tailgating would be allowed at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre for the June 30 Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band concert, can rest easy.
Jon Reens, senior director of marketing/Midwest for Live Nation, said the lot will open at 3:30 p.m. on show day and tailgating will be permitted prior to the show and only for this event. He said people will not be allowed to remain in the parking lots during the show, and no boats, trailers or Port-O-Lets will be allowed.
Reens said no overnight parking will be allowed in the lots after the concert.
The show marks the first time in five years that Buffett will be performing at the outdoor venue at 19100 S. Ridgeland Ave. in Tinley Park.
He previously played annual concerts at Bridgeview’s Toyota Park, where tailgating was allowed, and even did a 2005 gig at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
Tickets for the FMBA show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, and there will be an eight-ticket limit per customer.
Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets and charge by phone at (800) 745-3000. Ticket prices are subject to applicable fees.
