Eighth-grade mathlete Jane Folliard from Grissom Middle School in Tinley Park recently finished second at the 2012 Southwest Interscholastic Math Competition.

Folliard and teammates Umair Bhutto, Upasana Pathak, Melissa Ward and Nicole Ward took on more than 50 competitors from 12 schools in a contest designed to test algebra and geometry proficiency.

The Grissom team finished fourth overall.
