Tinley Park police hunt for armed robber

Tinley Park and Illinois State Police were searching Wednesday for a man who robbed the Hampton Inn hotel at gunpoint about 1:40 p.m.

According to police radio reports, a man wearing a black hoodie with a white plastic mask over his face stole $200 from the hotel at 18501 North Creek Drive.

The man was carrying a chrome rifle and was last seen fleeing south of the hotel, according to the radio reports.

Tinley Park police said they had no further information as of 11 a.m. Thursday.
