The Tinley Park Lions Club recently presented Andrew High School student Lauren Gaynor with a $750 scholarship for continued education.

“Lauren has set an excellent example for her fellow students to follow and is a deserving recipient of this scholarship,” said Tinley Park Lions Club president Mark Cohen. “Helping young people continue their education is one of the challenges our community faces, and it’s a need our club continues to address.”

Also presented with scholarships were Nileema Patel from Lincoln-Way North High School and Andrew Griffen from Tinley Park High School.

“We are also extraordinarily grateful for the support and contributions we received from members of the community,” Cohen said. “You are helping us make a difference.”

In addition to the scholarship, the club conducts a variety of projects and events, including Candy Day and the Lions Pancake Breakfast. The Lions Club supports organizations such as the Tinley Park Food Pantry, the Illinois Eye Bank and local Boy Scout organizations.

The Tinley Park Lions Club has 20 members and meets the second Monday of each month.
