Tinley Park police still were searching Thursday for a suspect who held up a man at 6:29 a.m. Tuesday as he was making a deposit at an ATM machine at a Citibank branch at 17401 S. Oak Park Ave.

The suspect approached the man at a drive-up ATM machine, displayed a handgun and took an unknown amount of cash, Police Cmdr. Steve Vaccaro said.

The armed robber fled on foot, but police said he may have had a vehicle nearby.

The victim was not injured, Vaccaro said.

Police used the reverse 911 calling system to alert nearby residents of the incident, urging them to call police if they spotted the suspect.

The robber was described as a male with a thin build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
