Kelly Davidson, a senior at Tinley Park, has been a competitive cheerleader since sixth grade.

She is a four-year varsity member who was named All-South Suburban Conference.

How did you get involved in cheerleading?

My cousin, Melissa Banks, was a cheerleader at Downers Grove South and I wanted to follow in her footsteps.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

During my freshman year at the Lemont football game I had really bad shin splints and I asked the other cheerleaders if you could warm up the ice because I did not want to put cold ice on my legs because of how cold it was outside.

What’s on your iPod/MP3 player?

Everything from country to hip-hop and rap.

What’s the most clever or funny line you heard in a cheer?

“It’s not a smile unless you show teeth. Its not a facial unless you feel stupid.”

What do you tell people who say “cheerleading is not a sport – it’s an activity”?

Give me 2 minutes and 30 seconds and I’ll show you.

If you could coach the team for one day, what would you change?

I would not change a thing. I would do the same things as coach (Arianne) Montgomery has taught us.

Who’s the most interesting person you’ve met?

The lead singer from Asking Alexandria (Danny Worsnop) while working at The First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre.

If they made a movie about your life story, what would the title be?

“The Wild Ride — the True Life of Kelly Davidson.”

And who should play you in the lead role?

Kendra Wikinson.

As told to Jeff Vorva
