Girls Catholic Athletic Conference honors Hall of Fame class

The Girls Catholic Athletic Conference recently honored its 2013 Hall of Fame Classic.
The honorees included Midge Arundel Furlong, a volleyball standout from Mother McAuley, along with the 1987 state champion Mother McAuley volleyball team.
Also honored was Jim Prunty, athletic director and GCAC secretary from St. Ignatius.
Other honorees included Karen Booth, a volleyball standout, coach and principal at Notre Dame and Guerin Prep, and Christopher Ford, a basketball coach at St. Bendict and St. Gregory.
Michele Savage, a basketball star for Immaculate Heart of Mary and Marissa Tybor, a softball and golf standout from Mount Assisi, were also enshrined.
Julie Colwell, an official in basketball, softball and volleyball, and Joan McElligott, a volleyball and softball player at Alvernia High School, and a volleyball official, were also honored.
Finally, the Seton Academy 1998 state tournament-qualifying girls basketball team was honored.
