The Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce recently announced the appointment of Karen Wegrzyn as the chamber’s executive director.
Wegrzyn recently served as the director of development for the Crisis Center for South Suburbia in Tinley Park.
She has served as a chamber director for the past five years and has chaired several event committees, including the annual golf outing and the holiday party.
“Her involvement with the chamber and experience in the community made her an ideal candidate for the position,” Tom Mahoney, chamber board president, said.
Wegrzyn also served as marketing manager with the Tinley Park Park District, having spent seven years serving park district patrons.
Wegrzyn received her master of science degree from Arizona State University, following the completion of her bachelor’s degree in marketing at Governors State University.
Wegrzyn, originally from Chicago Heights and currently a resident of Mokena, is a lifelong resident of the south suburbs. She is a graduate of Marian Catholic High School.
“I’m thrilled to join the chamber as executive director,” Wegrzyn said. “I’m really looking forward to getting to know all chamber members and enhancing chamber services to best meet members’ needs.”
A “Meet and Greet” open house for chamber members and nonmembers will be 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the chamber office, 17316 S. Oak Park Ave.
Chamber office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Wegrzyn can be contacted at (708) 532-5700, email email@example.com or www.tinleyparkchamber.org.
