Southland: The Southside Shooters will hold boys basketball tryouts and organizational meetings Sept. 6 at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills. Mokena: The Mokena Park District is offering a Princess Pom and Cheer program on Tuesdays from Sept. 10 to Oct. 15 at the Recreation Program Center, 10925 W. LaPorte Road. Classes will meet from 11 to 11:45 a.m. or 12:15 to 1 p.m. The group is open to girls ages 4 to 6. Fees: (if registered by Sept. 3) $55 resident, $60 nonresident. Mokena: The Mokena Park District is offering an adult men’s flag football 8-on-8 league that will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays from Sept. 7 to Nov. 2 at Fox Ridge Park, 19740 Telluride Lane. Team rosters must consist of between 10 and 20 players. Cash prizes will be awarded to regular season and postseason winners. Fees: $600 resident, $625 nonresident per team. Register by Saturday.
