Orland Park: The Windy City Magic eighth-grade boys basketball travel team will hold tryouts for the 2013-14 season from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 15 and 16 at the Orland Park Sportsplex, 11351 W. 159th St. Information: www.windycitymagic.org.

Mokena: The Mokena Park District is offering a Princess Pom and Cheer program on Tuesdays from Tuesday to Oct. 15 at the Recreation Program Center, 10925 W. LaPorte Road. Classes will meet from 11 to 11:45 a.m. or 12:15 to 1 p.m. The group is open to girls ages 4 to 6. New students must purchase pom- poms ($3) and a T-shirt ($8.50). New Lenox: Providence Catholic’s state champion cheerleading program will host a clinic for kids in grades kindergarten to eight from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Columbus Day, Oct. 14. Indivudals and teams are welcome. Fee: $35 per participant (includes T-Shirt and pass to all Providence sporting events for the school year). Register by Sept. 27. Frankfort: The Frankfort Park District will offer a karate program, open to individuals and families, Tuesdays from Tuesday to Oct. 15 at Founders Community Center. Southland: Hickory-Willow Swim Association is offering a two-week trial for prospective members from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday to Sept. 20 at Stagg High School, 8015 W. 111th St., Palos Hills. Frankfort: The Frankfort Park District will offer youth tennis lessons, open to kids ages 4 to 15, Mondays from Sept. 16 to Oct. 14 at Main Park Tennis Courts. Ages 4 to 7 will meet from 4 to 5 p.m., ages 8 to 12 from 5 to 6 p.m. and ages 13 to 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. Fees: $55 for resident, $60 for nonresident.
