The Mount Assisi Academy eighth-grade girls basketball tournaments took place Sept. 14-15.
St. Alexander School, of Palos Heights, won the tournament on Sept. 14.
The championship team consists of Maddi Brennan, Ally Corcoran, Anna Djikas, Madeline Glennon, Emily Marx, Molly O’Leary, Sam Reidy, Abigaile Rosynek and Jaime Ryan.
They are coached by Mike Glennon.
Second-place honors went to St. Francis Xavier School, of LaGrange.
The members are Natalie Giron, Maddie Morkin, Abigail O’Connell, Kate Doyle, Clare Doyle, Bridget Corrigan, Kaysie Stuba, Jenna Winfrey, Mary Devine, Bridget Holly and Lauren Brock.
Their coaches are John Zotti and John Bauer.
The champion of the Sept. 15 tournament was St. George School, of Tinley Park. That team is coached by Kevin Saunders.
Kaitlin Castrogiovanni, Kira Gambrell, Morgan Weber, Lauren Tucker, Gisele Smith, Lottie Deltgen, Molly Houlihan, Katie Saunders, Jessica Weglarz, Genevieve DeMauro, Anna Carroll, Tabitha Willis and Kanisha Smith are part of the championship team.
Second-place honors went to St. Barnabas School, of Chicago.
Players include Colleen Flood, McKenna Kallianis, Maya O’Neill, Elyse Peichocki, Eva Kelly, Maeve Sheridan, Anna Guerra, Emma Kallianis and Jasmine Thompson.
St. Barnabas is coached by Mike and Maggie Maloney and Mike O’Neill.
