BASEBALL

Crestwood: Registration for Crestwood Baseball Association’s 2014 season is open to ages 7 to 14 and can be done at crestwoodbaseball.com. Information: Meaghan Kingzette at (708) 239-0877.

Southland: Alsip Crunch baseball is looking for players at the 9U and 14U levels for the 2014 season. Information: For 9U, John Charters at (708) 557-3122 or johncharters@comcast.net. For 14U, Chris Marinec at (708) 466-9576 or maro68gto@comcast.net.

Southland: Matteson/Olympia Fields Baseball, a private league working in partnership with the Olympia Fields Park District, needs coaches and board members for the 2014 season. Information: Kevin Oliver at (708) 674-7444.

Southland: The Midwest Rangers are looking for players who will be 11 or 14 years old next season. The age cutoff is April 30. The full-time travel team plays a competitive schedule including competing in a national World Series. Information: midwestsportsgroup@yahoo.com or (708) 932-0590.

BASKETBALL

Southland: The Illinois Hoopla conduct spring tryouts for boys and girls in grades three to 12 Sunday and Saturday. Information: Coach Mike Wittmann at (815) 212-3558 or illinoishoopla.com.

Southland: South Side Shooters conduct tryouts for girls in grades three to 11 from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Stagg High School in Palos Hills. Attendees should bring balls. Information: Gary Ferguson at (630) 935-1150 or shootersbball.com.

Orland Park: The Windy City Magic conduct tryouts for its spring-summer boys basketball teams at the Orland Park Sportsplex. Tryouts for 15U will be at 11 a.m. Saturday and 16U tryouts will be at 7 p.m. March 9. Information: windycitymagic.org.

Southland: The Illinois Defenders’ clinic for girls in grades three to five runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from March 10 to May 19 at Marist High School in Chicago. The sessions will be run by Marist girls coach Mary Pat Connolly. Fee: $299 (includes T-shirt and Amateur Athletic Union card). Information: illinoisdefenders.com.

Frankfort and New Lenox: LW Elite girls basketball seeks girls to complete the fifth grade team, which focuses on fundamentals with the goal of advancing girls’ skills while enjoying the game. Tryouts: Ed Kmak at (708) 772-8813 or ed@worldbridgepartners.com.

DIVING

Southland: Viking Diving Club conducts its Spring I session, open to intermediate and high school-age divers, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 11 to April 17. There also will be a class for intermediate and advanced divers from noon to 2 p.m. Saturdays from March 15 to April 19. All classes will be at Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor. LACROSSE

Homer Glen: Chiefs Lacrosse presents a three-week indoor clinic for grades one to eight Wednesdays and Fridays from Wednesday to March 21 at the Megaplex, 15201 S. Bell Road, Homer Glen. Grades one to four will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m., grades five and six will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and grades seven and eight will meet from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Fee: $150 (all equipment can be rented for $25 more).
