Gift store burglarized in New Lenox

Someone broke into a gift shop that supports developmentally disabled adults and stole about $1,900 in cash and checks over the weekend, according to police.
They said there were no signs of forced entry at Petals and Twigs in the 400 block of West Francis Road. The burglary was discovered at 8:40 a.m. Saturday when an employee arrived to open the business, police said.
Petals and Twigs is one of several businesses operated by Trinity Services, which offers programs and services for disabled adults.
