Will regional school board has opening

Applications are being accepted by the Will County Regional Office of Education to fill a vacant seat on its school board, according to Supt. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant.

She said applicants for the position must be a registered voter and live in Troy Township, the township from which the former board member was elected. A candidate also cannot be a member of a local school board or a school district employee and cannot hold a county office, according to the regional office.

The new board member will serve until the April 2013 election. The regional school board meets quarterly, with special meetings when necessary.

Applications should be sent by Feb. 6 to Dr. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, Will County Regional Office of Education, 702 W. Maple St., New Lenox, IL 60451.
