A Chicago man was arrested after a wild shootout early Sunday in Hazel Crest in which about 30 shots were fired but no was wounded, police said.
Emmanuel Poe, 21, of the 3100 block of West 84th Place, has been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, Police Chief Tom Folliard said.
He said shots were fired about 1 a.m. between people in a car and house in the Carrington Court subdivision at 183rd Street and Pulaski Road. That no one was hit by a bullet is “amazing,” Folliard said.
“There was a party with a large amount of young people that went sour. It devolved into an argument and then a shooting,” he said.
Soon after the shooting ended, Glenwood police saw a car that fit a witness’ description and pulled it over near the Glenwood School for Boys, Folliard said.
He said two of the four occupants of the car fled on foot, Poe was arrested and a fourth person was questioned by police and released. No guns were recovered, and Folliard said the investigation continues.
