One dead from police-involved shooting in south suburb

One person is dead following a police-involved shooting in south suburban Calumet City on Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred in the 500 block of Forsythe at about 8:26 a.m., a release from Calumet City police said.

Police would not immediately release additional details, but the Lake County (Ind.) Coroner’s office is involved in the investigation, a spokesman said. The coroner’s office would not immediately release details of the death.

The incident is being investigated with the assistance of the Illinois State Police, the release said.
