Shots fired at man in New Lenox Township

Shots were fired Feb. 11 at a resident as he walked to his front door in the 14000 block of Summerfield Drive, but the man was not hit, according to Will County sheriff’s police.

The 44-year-old man told police that he parked his van in his driveway about 8 p.m. and saw a bluish green car, possibly a Chevrolet Monte Carlo or Impala, drive past his house, make a U-turn and park down the street.

As he walked to the house, the victim saw a man exit the car and walk toward him, displaying a handgun, police said. They said the resident ran for cover and called 911 as three shots were fired, hitting the van, before the gunman ran back to the car and drove off.
