South Holland firefighters extinguish blaze Saturday

SOUTH HOLLAND — Firefighters extinguished a blaze on Saturday morning at a single-family home on 160th Place.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

The South Holland Fire Department responded around 7:30 a.m. and quickly put out the fire, Lt. Kal Kowski said.

The department received assistance from Dolton, Phoenix, Harvey, Homewood, Calumet City and Lansing. Dixmoor and Thornton helped staff the South Holland station while firefighters were responding, Kowski said.
