Jeff Limp has been appointed to the Frankfort Public Library District board of trustees, filling a seat vacated when Kay MacNeil resigned last month.
Limp, whose appointment was unanimously approved, will fill the remainder of MacNeil’s term and plans to run for the seat in the April 2013 election.
Limp and his family have lived in Frankfort for 12 years. They previously lived in Mokena, where he also served on the library board.
Limp has a master’s degree in business administration and is pursuing a master’s in library science from the University of Illinois. He is senior vice president for global product implementation for IPSOS, a global market research company.
“He impressed the trustees during his interview with his knowledge of the challenges facing libraries, and the skill set that he would bring to the board, specifically in strategic planning,” board President Keith Ogle said. “We’re looking forward to working with him to continue to improve our library.”
Ogle said Limp planned to run for the board in 2013 even before the vacancy occurred.
