Former Cook County Commissioner Robert Shaw was hospitalized Tuesday after he was injured in a fall at his South Holland home.
Shaw was rushed to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey about 2:30 a.m. after he had a “nasty fall,” Harvey town spokesman Sean Howard said in a news release. The release did not specify his injuries but said Shaw suffered a fracture to his upper body.
Shaw was in fair condition and was resting comfortably but was expected to remain in the hospital for several days, Howard said.
Shaw is the former alderman of Chicago’s 9th Ward and a longtime Chicago politician. He recently withdrew his name as a candidate for the March primary elections for the Cook County Board of Review, the release said.
