To kick off its summer events in the Commons, the village of New Lenox will host a carnival May 17 to 20 in front of village hall, 1 Veterans Parkway.

Discount coupons for Saturday and Sunday will be sold at the French Market, which runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October in the parking lot at Gear Drive and Haven Avenue.

The carnival will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. May 17, 5 to 11 p.m. May 18, 1 to 11 p.m. May 19, and 1 to 6 p.m. May 20.

During the carnival, Veterans Parkway will be closed in front of village hall, but open from Gear to Greenbriar. There will be access to the New Lenox Library and its parking lot.

The village’s Triple Play Concert Series in the Commons this year features Night Ranger on June 2, Heart on July 20, and Styx on Sept. 1. One ticket for all three shows is $60 and is available at the village hall.

The complete list of free Sunday evening concerts and weeknight movies will be posted on the village’s website at www.newlenox.net.
