One woman suffered minor injuries in one of three accidents on Interstate 80 near the Interstate 57 interchange Thursday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
She told police she lost control of her sport utility vehicle which rolled over three times, causing the left lane to be blocked at 9:15 a.m., according to reports.
Two accidents, involving five other vehicles, were caused by backed-up traffic, but Trooper Elizabeth Nanai said it was not clear if traffic was slowed due to the rollover or just morning congestion.
Two drivers in those accidents were cited for failure to reduce speed, she said.
The left lane of I-80 was shut down briefly while the vehicles involved were moved to the shoulder of the highway, police said.
