An 18-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest at his home in South Holland Thursday afternoon.
At about 3:10 p.m., South Holland Police received a call of shots fired in the 14700 block of East Riverside Drive, said South Holland Police Chief Warren Millsaps.
Responding police found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest, and paramedics took the man to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where he was pronounced dead, Millsaps said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 18-year-old Depareyon Temple.
Millsaps said investigators were interviewing “numerous” witnesses and persons of interest, but he would not say whether Temple’s death was a homicide.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force was assisting in the investigation, Millsaps said.
