CALUMET CITY -- A Chicago man has been captured and charged for a shootout that left two people dead and two others wounded April 21 at a Calumet City nightclub. One of the dead was shot by police.

Antonio Goston, 26, of Chicago, was arrested May 23 in Texas on an active warrant and brought back to Illinois where he was charged with murder, according to Calumet City police. He is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday in Markham.

Goston is accused of shooting two people early April 21 in parking lot of the What’s Up nightclub in the 700 block of Torrence Avenue in Calumet City, said Calumet City police Chief Dan Zorzi.

Responding officers initially found two apparent gunshot victims, Zorzi said.

“While our officers were on the scene there were more shots,” Zorzi said. Officers exchanged gunfire with a man who was firing the gun “and that person was shot,” Zorzi said.

No officers were injured in the incident.

A total of four people were wounded, two of them -- including the one shot by police -- were killed, Zorzi said.

The two men fatally shot were identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as Willie White, 20s, and Archer Chambers, 20. Both men were pronounced dead on the scene.

A man and a woman wounded in the shooting were also hospitalized, Zorzi said.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force assisted Calumet City police in the investigation. The Illinois Public Integrity Task Force was also investigating because of the police-involved shooting.
