Sauk Village trustee to run for mayor

Derrick Burgess, a Sauk Village trustee since 2005, said he will run for mayor in the April 2013 election.
Burgess will formally announce his candidacy at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hometown Gyros restaurant, 2550 E. Sauk Trail in Sauk Village. The public is invited.
Burgess, who lost to Lewis Towers in the mayoral election in 2009, said his motto is “Putting Sauk Village first.”
