The Tinley Park Village Board on Tuesday is expected to approve a plan to split the cost of a new fire truck with the village’s fire department.
The new aerial ladder truck, which costs $850,000, would replace a 37-year-old ladder truck and bring the department into compliance with federal rules.
A 2010 evaluation by an industry regulations agency determined Tinley Park’s 1975 ladder truck could not be retrofitted.
Under the proposal, $425,000 will come from the fire department’s budget and the other half from the village.
