If not a hair was out of place and everyone’s lipstick was perfectly applied during a beauty school graduation ceremony Sunday in Tinley Park, it likely didn’t stay that way long.
Six people suffered minor injuries, and charges were pending against three women who were taken into custody after what police called “a large disturbance” at the Tinley Park Convention Center, police said.
Although he had no details on what led to the melee, Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki said a fight broke out after a beauty school graduation ceremony.
The six people who were hurt were treated at the scene, according to a news release issued Monday by Tinley Park police, who did not return a call seeking more information.
Police were called to the convention center at 6:18 p.m. Sunday, according to the release. When police arrived, including officers from several neighboring jurisdictions, they found “a large group of people involved in a fight in the front entryway of the convention center,” the release said.
