No one was injured, but residents of six Bridgeview apartments were displaced Monday by a fire that left the building uninhabitable, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
The fire started about noon in the front of the three-story building at 7320 W. 86th St., Bridgeview Fire Battalion Chief David Lis said. It quickly spread up the wooden facade to the third floor, which got the worst of the damage that spared none of the six units, he said.
Residents of five apartments found lodging with friends or relatives, and one was put up by the village at a local hotel until more permanent lodging could be found, Lis said.
It took about two hours for firefighters to get the fire under control, he said.
“The initial crews did a really nice job,” Lis said.
