Routine bridge inspections on Interstate 80 over the Des Plaines River will require a daily lane closure for two days, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.
The inspections will take place, weather permitting, on the westbound bridge Wednesday and on the eastbound bridge Thursday. The right lane will be closed on the bridge being inspected, according to IDOT.
It said the lane closure will be set and removed each day. The closures will be scheduled during the off-peak travel periods to minimize the impact to traffic.
Motorists should anticipate delays and allow extra time for trips through this area.
