Abby Foundation luncheon slated for Aug. 17

The Abby Foundation’s annual Women Together Luncheon will be Aug. 17 at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18501 S. Harlem, featuring Val Warner, co-host of ABC-7’s “Windy City Live,” as guest speaker.
Exhibits will be open from 9 a.m. to noon, with the luncheon at noon.
The foundation will name its Woman of the Year, pay special tribute to one of its founding members, Joanne Zerkel, who died March 26, and give away a new car.
Tickets are $35 per person or $350 for a table of 10 and are available by visiting www.abbyfoundation.org.
The nonprofit Abby Foundation was founded 27 years ago and was named after the late first lady Abigail Adams, who championed women’s fundamental rights.
Its goal is to raise funds to provide college scholarships to south suburban women and grants to local existing organizations that assist women and children.
