Monee man killed in Calumet Heights shooting

A Monee man was shot and killed early Sunday, found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood.
He was found unresponsive in the 9200 block of South Chappel Avenue about 3 a.m., according to Chicago Fire Media Affairs.
Jeffrey Smith, 31, of the 25700 block of Taft Street in Monee, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
He was shot multiple times, police said. Officers found him slumped over the wheel of his vehicle.
No one is in custody as Chicago Police detectives begin their investigation.
