Hazel Crest woman shot to death in her apartment

A 35-year-old woman was found murdered at a Hazel Crest apartment complex Monday morning in the 18100 block of Kedzie Avenue, officials said.

Erika Ellison died of multiple gunshot wounds, and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Ellison was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 5:02 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

Several messages left with Hazel Crest police seeking more information were not returned.
