Applications for absentee ballots being accepted in Will County

The Will County clerk’s office is now taking applications for absentee ballots for the Nov. 6 general election.
Registered voters can request an absentee ballot at www.thewillcountyclerk.com or (815) 740-4632 or (815) 774-6367 and must provide their name, residence address, mailing address and date of birth.
The first day absentee ballots can be mailed out is Sept. 27. The last day a ballot can be requested is Nov. 1.
Voters also may apply in person at the clerk’s office from Sept. 27 to Oct. 20, and on Nov. 5. A valid government-issued photo ID is required.
The clerk’s office is at 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. It will be closed Oct. 6 and Oct. 8 for Columbus Day.
