Evergreen Park SD 124 board to discuss teachers’ contract Monday

The public will be able to comment on a possible teachers strike at a special meeting of the Evergreen Park School District 124 board at 5 p.m. Monday in the board conference room at 9400 S. Sawyer Ave. in Evergreen Park.
Public comments will be limited to three minutes.
The board then will recess to closed session to discuss the contract negotiations with the Evergreen Park Federation of Teachers.
The teachers union last week filed a notice of intent to strike. The earliest a strike could begin is Sept. 28. A negotiating session with the board tentatively is set for Sept. 24.
The school board is scheduled to meet again at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Central Junior High, 9400 S. Sawyer Ave.
