Matteson man dies after two shot on Chicago’s South Side

A Matteson man who was dropped off at an area hospital with gunshot wounds died from his injuries Monday evening.
Marvin McFerren, 43, of the 100 block of Moonlight Road, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 7:41 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
McFerren was taken to Mt. Sinai after someone had dropped him off at Roseland Community Hospital on Chicago’s South Side with gunshot wounds in his chest and arm, police said.
About 5 p.m. McFerren and a 31-year-old man were in the 11400 block of South Yale Avenue when they were both shot by an unidentified man, police said.
The 31-year-old man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was in stable condition, police said.
