18-year-old dies after I-57 crash near Monee

An 18-year-old Kankakee County man who was injured Sunday in a traffic crash on Interstate 57 near Monee, has died.
Kyle Rickey was driving in a southbound lane on I-57 near Harlem Avenue in Monee when he lost control of his vehicle, according to Illinois State Police.
Rickey drove into a ditch, where his vehicle rolled over, state police said.
Rickey and a passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital before being flown to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, state police said.
Rickey, of the 1200 block of Peacock Lane in Bradley, Ill., was pronounced dead Wednesday at 5:30 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
State police said the cause of the accident remained unknown early Thursday as investigators continued to collect details.
