The death of a man found in his Midlothian apartment after a fire Thursday morning has been ruled a suicide, authorities said Friday.
Courtney Walker, 21, died of carbon monoxide poisoning, and smoke and soot inhalation, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The fire broke out at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday on the second floor of the Amberley Courts Apartments in the 3600 block of West 147th Street.
Police said Walker was the tenant and was alone at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire still was under investigation Friday, police said.
