An 87-year-old woman died Thursday from injuries suffered in an auto accident on Illinois 394 in Crete.
Agnes DeGroot was involved in a crash Thursday on the highway at East Bemes Road, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Illinois State Police said she was driving west on Bemes when she disobeyed a stop sign at Illinois 394 and collided with a northbound vehicle about 10:20 a.m. Thursday.
DeGroot, of the 23000 block of Plum Valley Drive in Crete, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 4:27 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
