A 50-year-old Oak Forest man who died early Friday after a traffic crash earlier in the week in Tinley Park died of natural causes and not as a result of the crash, an autopsy Saturday found.

David Vanheel was involved in a crash that occurred Monday near 159th Street and Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Three cars and one van were involved in the accident, police said.

Vanheel, of the 15000 block of South Spruce Lane, was pronounced dead at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights at 12:13 a.m. Friday, the examiner’s office said Friday.

An autopsy Saturday found that he died of a myocardial infarction, and heart disease was a secondary cause, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled natural.
